Most of my friends know that I am a big fan of Isaac Asimov. I have read the entire Robot and the Foundation series. I wanted to read the Empire series. I looked at many book stores but could not find it.  [info]annacoder

A month at the new workplace

I have spent about 4 weeks at my new workplace.  Out of these 4 weeks there were holidays on 6 working days. Combine them with the weekends and there were 10 days holiday at a stretch.

The place is good. Although I miss NCST a lot. Pankaj is right here. He is sitting at a 30 sec walking distance from my cubicle. Both of us and Abhilash (he is pankaj's partner in the project)  go for lunch and  tea together.

My main work for the last 3 working weeks has been just studying. I have been learning Verilog with is a Hardware Definition Language and PSL with is a language to define assertions to check the Verilog program against.

Have lots of more things to write but I have not stopped procrastinating. So I think I will procrastinate on it a bit.

Trip to Pune

Had been to Pune this weekend. Met school friends after twelve years. Six of us made it to the meet. Two of them have got married and one of them has a kid too. Spent a lot of time catching up on each other. Discussed a lot about the school days and all. I took a couple of photos which can be seen at

Heavy rains at Faridabad

Today I faced a situation that I luckily missed last year at Bombay. We went out from home  at about 5 pm. It wasn't raining  roads were dry.  When we tried coming back at about 8pm.  It was raining heavily. The water was more than knee high. Vehicles stranded and abandoned. Had to walk through near waist high water to reach home.

Although it was not as bad as it was in Bombay last year, But i did get a taste of what people would have gone through. Now I at home. Car is parked at a persons shop. Have to fetch it tomorrow morning before 5:30. I hope it does not rain any more till i get onto the train tomorrow morning 8 o'clock.

Visit to Vashi

Looking at the subject line everyone might think "What could there be to write about it, these guys go to Vashi every alternate day.". But today was different. One of the reason to go to Vashi was to celebrate Navish's Birthday. For those who don't know, Navish is my flat mate.

While coming back we saw a book exhibition that claimed to be selling books at upto 50% discount. We (Me, Venkat, Navish and Naveenb) missed our 8:45 bus back to Kharghar to go to the exhibition. The exhibition there was a section were books were being sold for 10 Rs. a piece. If you buy 10 books you get 5 free. We end up buying 30 books. Of of those about 10 are StarTrek books.

Then we went to our old eating outlet "Pops Jumbo Wadapao". We had Misal pav. As we were entering the station building I told others about our old center at Vashi. Then we went to the second floor just to see what has happened to the place. There was a company called "research 4 ....", I don't remember the exact name. Then we went to see the "Vashi Juice Center". Those who used to Visit Vashi center would surely remember that. The Juice center used to be in a single shop at that time. Now he uses the earlier shop as a store room. He has shifted to a bigger place. We could not eat anything at that place because we were already full.

This visit to the Vashi Infotech park, brought back a lot of old memories.
